The Virgin Mary of the Catholic Church is mentioned for the first time in the Bible at the birth of Jesus Christ (Lk 2.1-7) in the Gospel according to SAN MATEO in the new testament. It was announced to her by the angel Gabriel that she would conceive of the holy spirit. The child that would be born to her would be Jesus, the messiah. The Virgin Mary is recognized and revered as the mother of Jesus and mother of God, the Queen of Heaven and Earth and her powerful role as mediator of many graces. The values of the virgin is to be a woman full of humility and purity. She represents faith and absolute love, at the same time hope, charity and compassion. The virgin is raised as an example to follow for the human being

This new virgin, like those she wants to welcome, has suffered since she was born with a condition she did not ask for, she is a character of flesh and blood who suffers and stands up as a symbol of a martyr, a maiden and a queen, who arrives to reconquer what was taken from her by the world itself, too cruel for her.

The art that I want to show I want it to be deeply human. Exploring the artist's own emotionality linked to mental health and the context that afflicts us is no stranger to the art world. This project starts from the autobiography. I seek to work on myself as part of the discourse. I consider myself as a central image and vision of the project from the self-portrait. The first part of the project focuses on the performance of the Virgen de la Candelaria. This is the central axis of my project and it is a symbol of hope and love for life, not giving up in the face of psychotic depression, which is for me, within the BPD, the most difficult thing to handle.

Maria's dogma is her perpetual virginity since she was a virgin before childbirth and afterward to finally die a virgin. Maria suffered in life, she saw her son being crucified on the cross, in the Bible it speaks of the seven pains of Maria, seven daggers that were stuck in her heart.

Later on, the Virgin of Sorrows appears, representing her pain, it is one of the oldest images of her. Throughout Peru there are more than 30 different types of virgins (Marian Advocations) that come from the Colonial Baroque by the Spanish Conquest. They present religious syncretism and a quite marked aesthetic.

The artist's emotions and what afflicts him have always been closely linked to his work and production, as is the case with Van Gogh or Edvard Munch.
Although we have made progress today, I believe that there are many taboos and beliefs regarding mental health, I believe that it is important to open a window to speak openly about these issues. In this work I start from my own experiences, the project talks about my own identity.

What I'm looking for is to represent neuro-divergent people (specifically Borderline Personality Disorder since I don't want to take possession of a speech that is not mine) My body is my Canvas to transform it and be others, in this case through my own self portrait
